How Did I Miss This?

Holy hell, I have been out of the fashion bubble too long!
If you haven't heard already (which you probably have because this collection has apparently spread like wildfire through the blogs) Alexander McQueen's new collection for fall 2009 is SPECTACULAR. It's a mesh of gothic, clowns, dinosaurs, circus freaks, umbrellas, and Sweeny Todd? I literally had too many favorites and there wasn't enough room for just one collage. This collection has re inspired my faith in fashion as an art form. Seriously, this speaks to me. It's too awesome to describe. Just look at the pictures!

Houndstooth has never been so glorious. What's ingenious is that the pattern is not completely repeticious throughout the garment. The black and white creates some sort or visual play on the eyes that makes the pattern confusing and yet, intriguing. I'm particularily LOVING the car rim thing as a hat in the top middle picture and also the dust mop effect of the bottom right.

This hat reminds me of something...
oh yeah! Now that's familiar! This is just another thing I love about fashion. The ability to take inspriation from anywhere and put it into clothes. Even architecture!

More of the collection.. The long black fur in the top left reminds me of Chris March's human hair experiment on Project Runway a couple of seasons ago. He truly was my favorite contestent ever! But, seriously that girl looks like a Russian Yeti destroyer!!!! So awesome. The garment next to it looks like an urchin trapped in a spaghetti strainer. Damn, if someone ever told me they were going to make that into a hat, I would have thought they were crazy. But, t seems as if I am the one crazy now for not believing it!!!!! I also love the effect they used on the dress in the top left. I can't even imagine how intricate it is!This fierce look was the finale and I'll tell you what it reminds me of.
This little mongrel. Remember in Jurassic Park when Neuman got sprayed by one of these with venom? That's what that garment makes me want to do. "HISSS"

ok, last collage I swear!!! The multi-directions of the first outfit on the left is ahhh mazing and I can't get over the dress in the top middle OR the umbrella hat. How practical would that be? I would never have to carry a pesky umbrella ever again!
Now, this dress specifically reminds me of something too.

It reminds me of the dress Helena Bonham Carter wore in Sweeny Todd during the "By the Sea" fantasy. I will never get over that movie. So amazing.
In conclusion, , FASHION IS OUR RELIGION, ALEXANDER MCQUEEN IS GOD!!!!!!!!!!!
