Romeo, oh Romeo

I bought this dress in a boutique called "Vie Vie" in San Francisco for about 30% off. Glory!
I'm planning on wearing it to the Turnabout dance, where I will meet someone's gaze from across the room. I'm a star-crossed lover in the making.
Velvet and chiffon dress by Max and Emma, shoes by Dolce Vita, and Chinese paper lantern from China Town =D
China Town in San Francisco
Second purchase from a different boutique in San Fran. I got it for $25 off of $120! I am soo good. P.S. notice the ponies on the bookshelf. I will never grow up.

Michelle Obama most stylish First Lady since Jackie Kennedy?

Answer? NO. Absolutely no!
because...
a. No one is comparable to Jackie Kennedy, who is a timeless representation of a fashion era.
b. I see nothing different about the way she wears from other politicians wives. (besides possibly Hillary and her sisterhoood of the traveling pant suits.)
c. Does it seem like she cares about her appearance and how she dresses? Yes.
is she particularly "fashionable" or "trend-setting"? No. There is no comparison between her and Jackie Kennedy besides the fact that they are both first ladies.
I just don't see the fashion-ation (pun intended, yo)
I mean, how can you compare? Answer: you can't

I Left My Heart in San Francisco

Gather 'round children! I bring tales of warmer places =D
Last weekend my family and I ventured to California to experience the wonderous-ness that is San Francisco. We did all the cheesy things and had a very nice stay in the Ritz Carlton, where I happened to share the elevator with a few members of the Washionton Wizards basketball team, on more than one occasion! We did some shopping, checked out Alkatraz, ate dinner at a fancy shmancy restaurant named Tommy Toy's, and took a movie tour! Overall, we crammed in a whole lotta fun in just 4 short days.
Now, on to the fashion bl0g-like matters. Pictures!!
Capital buildingHouse from Interview with a Vampire!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the first night, we did a night tour of Alkatraz. My outfit was slightly weather innappropriate, but I blame it on my shock that it was 70 degrees and I had just come back from 20 below.
Go figure, apparently Californians don't wear sandals and shorts year round. Oh, silly me.Grey Smock by Kensie, floral belt from Express, Highligher nighty-like dress from UO, and L.A.M.B. purse
And here's me cheesin' in front of a cell in Alkatraz. Where I belong.

And on the second day, like I previously stated, my family and I went on a movie tour and did some wonderful shopping =D
Mint Green Victorian Jacket from The Gap, Black Tiered Dress F21, L.A.M.B. by Gwen Stefani Bag, and Jody McGill necklace
Myself at Inspiration Point, wonder where they got that name?

recognize the house? Why, I was just stopping by to say "hai!" to my bestie Mrs. Doubtfire.
Fabulous boots found in a store that seemed to carry only things in plaid. Ironically, I found these paisly beauties that Bronte would for sure salivate over. Oh, if only money grew on trees.

Outfits that I bought are to be posted later =D

See what I told you?

Girly mixed with grunge. One of my more inspired outfits. As a child of the 90's (established 1990, yo!) I only wish I was old enough to remember the actual grunge trend. I think I was too busy dancing to Backstreet Boys to even notice. 'Green Shrug from H&M, Stolen Black Tank Top, Forever 21 Purple Tutu, butchered Forever 21 tights, and Adidas by Stella McCartney Black Ballet Flats. Jewlery: Lacey/Heart necklace, a christmas present from an ex-friend, and Jody McGill Antique Cameo necklace.

Although, le sigh, not everyone at my school understands my thought process when cutting up my own tights.

"you know your tights are ripped, right?"
"really? I thought it was a little breezy..."
The ones with the lower IQ's had a harder time understanding my sacrasm
"did you do that to your tights on purpose?
"No, actually they got caught in a blender"
"ohmygosh! how did that happen?"
".... I'm just kidding"

p.s. I like to call most of these fashionably inept patrons in my head the fashion unconsious (aberzombies, if you will) because in the fashion bubble that is high school (where the trends are waaaay behind), everyone seems to unconscious to real fashion and innovation, if you ask me.

Last week, for example, I saw some girl wearing a magenta (mag-netta *tehe Bronte*) Juicy Coture velour track suit with a matching bag! The whole outfit was an explosion of magenta velour and I thought I might be sick. Why anyone would pay $200 for one of those bags is beyond me... none the less.

It's the ones that are really make me giggle.
"oh god" *snicker snicker*
and if I weren't a passive agressive non confrontational child, I might have pushed them down the stairs. But, on to happier things.

50's Looking Floral Strapless dress from Express and Mom's kind of studded belt from the 80's/90's

Taking pictures in front of my fashion decked out wall is turning out to be one of my favorite past times. I might redo it in a while, but I have much better things that I should be doing... like that scholarship application.

But, since I'm leaving for San Francisco in FOUR DAYS this picture and dress reminded me of warmer summer/spring days.
Tonight we have a blizzard watch. Oh, how I love the Midwest =\ Pray for a snow day!

uhm, there may be a JOINT VLOG (2nd most favorite word to say. ever) awith the lady Bronte and myself coming up soon!
I'm not sure if she's uploaded it to youtube or not, but it will give YOU, my dear 2 and 1/2 readers, something to look forward to that doesn't have to do with lost (9 days!!!!!11!!eleven!!!)

Outfits of Weeks Past

So, I'm back. And I decided I would post a weeks worth of outfits all at once and do that two birds with one stone thing.
Now, I can't seem to find the brooch that I'm wearing in the photo on the left =/ which sucks because I just got it as a gift. But none the less, the photo on the right has turned into one of the top most glorious unintended blurs of all time.

H&M Geometric Sweater, High Waisted White Skirt from Express, Blue Bloomingdales Bubble dress (tucked in), Express patterned tights, and my favo
rite Black Sam Elderman Fringe Boots.

I do have to admit, my room looks pretty freaking cool in these pictures. It's half of why I love taking pictures of myself. The other half being of course that I'm so ridiculously pretty =P (I'm being completely modest of course). REGARDLESS, this outfit was for a skit in school. I, being the responsible one, was one of the few who put effort in. Apparently i was double-take worthy to a few. Which makes me smile =D
Pose on left borrowed from my idol Miley Cyrus. Because apparently according to our weekley school news show, she is a style icon and we must now all pose and dress like Hannah Montana. Who is
possibly a 12 year old tranny dressed in sequins and gold shiny space pants with blonde wig on.

H&M Button Down Shirt Dress (tucked in), BCBG Navy Paper Bag Pencil Skirt, and (my insane) Maroon Plaid Oxford Steve Madden Heels that I received last Christmas

So, the outfit on the left was the result of poor planning and quick thinking. In my usual rushed style, I threw this on right before I ran out the door. The t-shirt is opaque-ish with a velvet red dragon of sorts on the front. I was going to wear it just plain, but due to recent complaints towards my rushed "not realizing my bra is showing" ness I decided to not risk looking like a hussie and through a dress on over it. The picture on the right is a slightly unreated picture of Brontebaby and myself at a D.W. Johnson photography exibit in my hometown.

( ON LEFT )Red Dragon T-Shirt bought in Bloomington Indiana, Faded Blue Transient ($100 word of the day!) Halter Dress from Express, "Hole in the Crotch" (resulting from too much use) BCG Skinny jeans from urban, and the boots I can't stop wearing.
( ON RIGHT ) On me: Dark Purple Drape-y top from Urban, Black Tank stolen from Teresa, and purple pin striped vest from Express. (not pictured) Bronte's circus cheap monday jeans that fit me like a dream.
On Bronte: My wonderous Nordic dress with eskimo scenes on it that I got in Cleveland Ohio the Thanksgiving before last

Anywhoosy, more pictures to come when I become motivated. Today I was a bit of a "grunge ballerina" according to my A.P. Government teacher. Which I took as a great compliment because she is one of my favorites =D

vlog

sup blogosphere, it's Emily. In an attempt to figure out the best way of posting for me, I have ventured out into the youtube world and started a vlog. Basically, my reasoning is that since I think I sound clever enough in my head that I should just say it out loud and broadcast to zillions of people!
aha and for your viewing pleasure, myself.
